Driving shouldn’t be all about the rush-hour commute or the tedious journeys. It should be about the romance of the road and thrill of speed. But it seems like the stress of the modern lifestyle seems to have taken the fun out of driving. So Chrysler® is striking back.
They are creating cars for the discerning the driver; for those with a slightly more refined taste. Having refined taste doesn't have to mean that you can tell the difference between a cheap wine and a twenty-year-old vintage. Cars are refined too, and a good driver can really notice and enjoy the difference.
Chrysler has been setting the standard for more than half a century in Australian motoring and it's no different today. Of course, setting the standard would really appeal to most companies, but for Chrysler sometimes the standard just isn't enough. Led by innovation and bravery, this is a company that is never happy with second place and never satisfied until it has created perfection.
Why have the standard when you can do better? The Chrysler 300C is that concept on four wheels. Elegant and majestic, it's no wonder that is comes with class-leading technology and refinement. But then Chrysler decided they wanted to push for a little more.
What is it that makes the difference between a great car, and a truly excellent car? Chrysler took the 300C and developed a deluxe model; the SRT8. Sharper, faster and smarter. It comes equipped with Chrysler's most powerful naturally aspirated V8 engine, the 6.1-litre HEMI.
Pioneering engineering work by Chrysler's team allows the SRT8 to pummel 6,000 revolutions-per-minute out of the engine. It's a beast. But with all that extra power and speed, you need to have confidence in your breaks too. That's why it comes with Brembo® performance four-piston red powder-coated brake callipers.
The outer design is an indicator of the quality. Rugged, but easy on the eye, the SRT8 has new features that accentuate its power. And these new muscular features aren't just there for the styling, they each perform a very important function. Take the rear deck spoiler, for example. It adds poise to the back of the car, but it also helps out the performance by exerting over 39 per cent more down-force than the standard model.
The SRT8 is a car-lovers car. If you’re looking for a bit of an upgrade in performance but still want complete luxury then look no further. It comes with power-adjustable sport seats with heat and memory functions that are fully customisable. Sitting in one makes you feel like a teenager with an adrenaline rush, yet on the outside you look mature and proud.
Chrysler have taken the 300C, already a brilliant car, and just made everything that bit better. You keep the formidable looks, but up the interior design and get improvements on the road (SRT stands for Street and Racing Technology). If you weren’t convinced by the 300C before, this is all the motivation you’ll need.
