The much-anticipated 2024 Mitsubishi Triton has finally been revealed, and it's bolder and more powerful than ever. This global premiere took place in Bangkok, introducing a fresh 'Beast Mode' design theme that will hit the Australian market early next year. A Striking New Design

The sixth-generation Mitsubishi Triton showcases an impressive 'Dynamic Shield' front-end design that boasts a three-dimensional grille and fenders. The new design also includes three L-shaped LED daytime running lights and three-element headlights, giving it a bold and blocky new persona. It has grown in every dimension, making it a fierce competitor in the ute segment.

New Triton Dimensions

In dual-cab 4x4 pick-up form, the 2024 Triton measures 5320mm long, 1865mm wide, and 1795mm high. What sets it apart is the 130mm increase in wheelbase, now at 3130mm. The flagship 'Athlete' variant, known as the GSR in Australia, is larger, measuring 5360mm long, 1930mm wide, and 1815mm high. This places it 40mm longer than the Toyota HiLux but narrower than the HiLux Rogue and shorter than the Ford Ranger Wildtrak.

A Powerful New Engine

The 2024 Triton is equipped with a new 2.4-litre twin-turbo diesel engine. It delivers an impressive 150kW of power and 470Nm of torque, making it a robust and capable choice. With the introduction of an extra turbocharger, it's now the Triton's first twin-turbo diesel engine. The new Triton will offer this engine in Australia, while other markets will have different variants.

Enhanced Safety and Driver Assist Features

Mitsubishi has not only enhanced the Triton's performance but also its safety features. The new Triton now includes advanced safety and driver assist systems such as active stability and traction control, forward collision mitigation, blind spot warning with lane change assist, rear cross traffic alert, adaptive cruise control, hill descent control, hill start assist, and active yaw control for the Super Select 4WD-II system.
