Introducing the 2024 Subaru WRX TR

Reviving the Performance Enthusiast's

Dream Subaru of America has unveiled the highly anticipated 2024 Subaru WRX TR at the annual Subiefest in Florida, filling the void left by the discontinued WRX STI flagship. This new model offers a glimpse of what's to come, with a potential Australian version known as the WRX 30 Years edition.

Enhancements for the True Enthusiast

The WRX TR revives the 'tuner-ready' performance badge that has been synonymous with special, stripped-out variants in the US market. It's designed to cater to the most dedicated enthusiasts, featuring a range of mechanical upgrades.

Performance and Handling Upgrades

These enhancements include stiffer springs and new dampers to enhance body control, along with a returned steering rack for sharper steering response. Additionally, to boost grip, the WRX TR is equipped with stickier Bridgestone Potenza S007 tires known for their superior performance in both wet and dry conditions.

Brembo Brakes and Power Under the Hood

Performance enthusiasts will appreciate the new high-performance Brembo brake package, boasting red-painted six-piston callipers clamping 340mm discs at the front and two-piston rear callipers paired with 326mm rotors.

A Heart of Power

Under the hood, you'll find a 2.4-litre turbo-petrol flat-four engine producing 202kW of power and 350Nm of torque, paired exclusively with a six-speed manual transmission and Subaru's all-wheel-drive system with active torque vectoring.

A Glimpse Inside

Inside the cabin, the WRX TR features black and grey Ultra suede Recaro seats with eight-way electric adjustment. Notably, the Australian version's prominent rear wing is replaced by a smaller boot lid spoiler on the WRX TR.

Enhanced Safety Features

In terms of safety, Subaru has included its latest EyeSight driver assist features, which introduce advanced safety technologies like automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control, and lane-keeping assist to the manual-equipped WRX for the first time.
