
Hyundai is celebrating 100,000 sales of its award-winning Getz, a feat unmatched by any other light car nameplate currently on sale in Australia.
Simultaneously the company is releasing details of its updated 2009 Getz range. With ESP Stability Control incorporating Traction Control System added to the 2009 Getz 'SX' as standard equipment, an integrated Bluetooth® audio system and fresh new exterior colours added across the range, the 2009 Getz is safer, more stylish and more connected.
Customers now have the option of ordering 2009 Getz 'SX' fitted with the updated 'Protectz' pack, which achieves a 4 star ANCAP rating.
The multi-award winning Getz range continues to go from strength to strength with Getz 'S' being recently recognized as Australia's most affordable car to own and run in 2008 by the RACV, RACQ, RACW and RAA Vehicle Operating Costs Surveys.
The new 2009 Getz 3 and 5 door range is distinguished by a revised sporty front grille.
Bluetooth® audio that allows wireless streaming of music directly from a Bluetooth® compatible mobile phone or Bluetooth® compatible music player is now standard equipment across the 2009 Getz range. The system contains a phone-book that can store up to 78 numbers and names. The new audio unit includes integrated USB and Aux sockets allowing users to connect and play music from their iPod®, MP3 player or USB memory stick. Music output is through 6 speakers and there are steering wheel mounted audio remote controls.
2009 Getz 'S' variants include a 1.4 litre petrol engine that achieves 6.1 litres / 100 km fuel economy* with manual transmission or 7.0 litres / 100 km* with automatic transmission; dual front airbags, front seatbelt pre-tensioners and load limiters, height adjustable driver's seat, full-size spare wheel, keyless remote entry, alarm, power windows and exterior mirrors and 60 / 40 split fold rear seat.
2009 Getz 'SX' variants with 1.6 litre petrol engine gain ESP Stability Control, incorporating Traction Control System (TCS) as standard. Other features over and above Getz 'S' variants include Anti-skid Braking System with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution, leather steering wheel and gear shift as well as a handy sunglasses holder.
A 'Protectz' pack option is available on Getz 'S' comprising Anti-skid Braking System with Electronic Brakeforce Distribution and ESP Stability Control, incorporating Traction Control System (TCS).
A new 'Protectz' pack option is available on Getz 'SX' incorporating driver and front passenger side (thorax) SRS airbags and seatbelt reminder buzzer. Getz 'SX' with 'Protectz' pack achieves a 4 star ANCAP rating.
Two new exterior colours are available for the enhanced Getz range - Light Green and Tango Red (both metallic).
