The battle for the top-selling passenger car has traditionally been between the Toyota Corolla and Mazda 3, even though the Hyundai i30 has overtaken the Toyota Corolla 19 times since 2010. We know what you’re thinking, how is that possible? Well…
Up until now, the Hyundai i30 hasn’t been recognised for its excellence due to its sedan equivalent being sold under another name, the Elantra. Since sales figures traditionally include both the hatch and sedan versions of the models, Hyundai has appeared to be severely lacking. However, this could all change from now. The combination of the i30 hatch and Elantra sedan have outsold the Toyota Corolla twice in the last four years. So why is it a top-selling car?
The Improved i30 Range
The i30 Hatch is packed with so much value it is guaranteed to make you feel good. It’s European styling, advanced safety and cutting-edge technology provides Australians with an overall winning vehicle. There’s not much more you could want from the i30, as its stunning design, thrilling performance, class-leading features and finish provide us with a multi-award winning vehicle.
With news of the new i30 sedan hitting our roads, Toyota and Mazda should be worried. The i30 sedan provides a 10.25″ touchscreen display, SmartSense driver safety technology and a leather appointed interior. On top of that, the sharp lines and sculpted look alone make it a winner in our eyes.
There is no doubt Hyundai would love to see the new i30 family knock-off the Toyota HiLux. The Hyundai i30 hatch has been Australia’s top selling car every year since it has been on sale. And, there’s no doubt the i30 sedan will follow suit. The Hyundai i30 has been the top selling car at Tynan Hyundai Kirrawee since it was released, and our stock has always run out quickly as a result.
So, the title of the top selling passenger car next year is up for grabs. We think it will be the Hyundai i30 range. What do you think?
