Honda Civic Type R – Review

Honda has built a weapon that relishes being caned on a difficult road yet retains impressive everyday manners – it might look like a refugee from the Fast and the Furious movie franchise, but underneath those wings and vents is a grown-up and accomplished performance car. The Type R was developed by Japanese drivers for the racetrack. Honda set a world record at the famous Nürburgring in Germany with a time of 7 minutes 4.38seconds for a lap. Despite feeding 228kW/400Nm through just [...]

2017 Hyundai Kona Review

Aussie buyers of the Hyundai Kona will get to choose between a 2.0-litre petrol engine or a more powerful 1.6-litre turbo petrol unit. The difference between the two? Each engine has a different automatic transmission (no manual is available) which is either a conventional six-speed unit (2.0 litre) or a seven-speed dual-clutch box (1.6T). There are also two drive types — all-wheel drive for the turbo-petrol and front-wheel- drive for the 2.0-litre version. Because of this, each has a different rear [...]

2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk review

The 2018 Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk is the third most powerful car on sale in Australia. Boasting a ridiculous 527kW and slightly breathtaking 874Nm of torque, nailing 0-100km/h in 3.7 seconds. The Trackhawk simply defies the basic premise of physics that suggests a 2.4-tonne anything should lap this well. It stays in a static, balanced pose even at high speeds. Derived from the SRT, the Trackhawk's engine plays host to the Dodge-developed 6.2-litre supercharged Hemi that's know as the Hellcat. All [...]
