What started with one man, one vision and a small Total Service Station in Sutherland has grown into one of Australia's most respected family-owned automotive groups.

Today, as the second and third generations of the Tynan family continue Michael Tynan's legacy, we are celebrating six decades of service with our biggest anniversary event ever – the Tynan Motors 60 Year • 60 Hour Sale.

The Story of Michael Tynan

In 1966, Michael Tynan opened his first dealership from a service station site in Sutherland after being appointed a Mazda dealer. What followed was six decades of growth driven by hard work, integrity and a genuine passion for helping customers.

Michael wasn't simply passionate about selling cars.

He was passionate about people.

Customers became friends.

Staff became family.

Community organisations became partners.

Over the years, Michael built Tynan Motors into one of Sydney's first automotive "supermarkets", offering customers choice, value and exceptional service.

His commitment to the community extended well beyond the showroom, serving on Sutherland Shire Council for 18 years, including multiple terms as Shire President, while supporting countless local charities, hospitals, sporting clubs and community organisations.

Today, those same values remain at the heart of Tynan Motors.

Three Generations, One Vision

From humble beginnings in Sutherland, Tynan Motors has grown into a multi-franchise automotive group representing leading brands across Southern Sydney and the Illawarra while remaining proudly family owned and operated.
