LDV Terron 9 Achieves Five-Star ANCAP Safety Rating
The 2025 LDV Terron 9 ute has officially secured a five-star ANCAP safety rating, providing peace of mind for Australian drivers seeking strength, reliability, and safety in their next workhorse or family dual-cab.
Based on Global Testing
While the Australian-market Terron 9 is currently available with a 2.5-litre turbo-diesel engine, its ANCAP safety score is based on testing of the all-electric Maxus eTerron 9 conducted in Europe.
Despite differences under the bonnet – with the diesel featuring a traditional powertrain and the EV offering front storage in place of an engine – both vehicles share the same platform and safety structure, giving ANCAP confidence in awarding the diesel-powered ute the maximum safety rating.
Test Results
The LDV Terron 9 performed strongly across ANCAP’s four key testing categories:
- Adult Occupant Protection: 91%
- Child Occupant Protection: 89%
- Safety Assist Technology: 85%
- Vulnerable Road User Protection: comparable to its EV sibling
The Terron 9’s updated safety suite includes advanced driver assistance technologies such as autonomous emergency braking (AEB), adaptive cruise control, and lane-keeping support, ensuring it meets the highest modern safety benchmarks.
What This Means for Drivers
With this result, the LDV Terron 9 joins the ranks of utes with a current five-star ANCAP rating, valid through to 2031. This ensures that buyers – whether tradies, fleet operators, or families – can be confident in both the vehicle’s robust build and its cutting-edge safety technology.
